This is a demonstration to show different types of extinguishing agent that can be used on a liquid fire. This is a category B fire, so suitable extinguishing agents are: Foam, Co2, or powder. For this demonstration, we used Co2, and foam. The first part of the video was using a Co2 extinguisher, the second, a AFFF (foam) extinguisher. It was a windy day.
The video demonstrates how effective foam is for extinguishing the fire quickly, and that using the right type of class extinguisher in the wrong circumstances can lead to the fire not being extinguished as required. Highlighted clearly by the use of Co2 outside on a windy day, when the fire wasn’t extinguished.
